Today I want to discuss the topic about the technology in class.
About the curriculum, teacher may be difficult to find proper material to teach, teacher has to consider the age and conditions of student and so on. In Taiwan, teacher usually prepares pen and paper test for student in typical class so the integration with technology about exam is less and limited. And the access to computer, if teacher encounters the conditions that the student is older and lack computer literacy or some students have no computer at home, teacher will have a big challenge to teach and sometimes has to help student overcome the frustration to computer. Technology is costly because it needs the integration that computer, software, training, support. Therefore the elimination rate of computer or requirement about technology is higher. Then about the time problem, teacher has to spend much time to prepare materiel and familiar with how to use technology application. Teacher and students will have a period of time to adapt to way of teaching and learning by technology. The time of operation also often influence the class pace.
In fact, I do not agree teaching and learning are whole computerization. I think the interaction between teacher and student is important and interesting. Sometimes maybe you can know how to use the online information to get what you want but something you can not get by computer such as conversation with your act to another people because you just face a computer. Moreover, we learn knowledge from real people that can make us more understand and solve what we do not understand by communication each other. For some learner, though they have computer literacy, we don’t sure if they have the strong motivation to learn something by computer. Therefore in class students can increase learning motivation by discussion, presentation or interaction each other and so on. Facing real thing can let us feel ourselves exist.
